I'm on diet.

I kind of always am...and never am. Both at the same time. I'm ALWAYS "trying" to lose more weight. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. I decided last week that I want to lose 10 more lbs (I'm always trying to lose just 10 more lbs. When I lose them, I look at myself in the mirror and think, "Hmmm, I need to lose 10 more." It's a disorder I think.) So I decided to get serious and give slim fast a try. PLEASE don't start telling me all the reasons I shouldn't do slim fast, I've already heard them. I'm still going to try it anyways. Even if when I quit "I'll just gain all the weight right back" blah blah blah. I'm still going to try it. Plus the drinks taste of chocolatey goodness. So what's the harm, right? Anways, it's been 4 days and I've lost 3 lbs. Feeling great. Feeling optimistic. Until today, that is.
I took Hallie to her Ballet class and was walking around the building for the hour while she was dancing. I kept seeing all of these pre-teens walking around the building wearing green uniforms and drama all over their little faces. This could only mean one thing...Girl Scouts. And where there's Girl Scouts....there's GIRL SCOUT COOKIES. Instantly I had a devil appear on one shoulder and an angel on the other. The angel chanting "3 pounds, 3 pounds, 3 pounds" while the devil reminded me that I needed a reward for my hard work over the last 4 days. I walked away. I picked up Chase and went to the shoppette on the base to get some bread. Then I saw the Oreos. I told myself, well we DO need a treat for family night tonight. I grabbed the package without giving it any more thought and checked out.
When I got back to the ballet class it wasn't quite over yet. I waited outside the door. As the little green drama girls walked past me over and over again I was reminded of the boxes of Girl Scouty-goodness waiting in the next room. I DID still have a few minutes to kill. And I DID have 10 Euros in my pocket. The pressure was too much.

Torturing Chase again.

I'm so so so so ready for this blasted white stuff to go away and start taking long walks and bike rides with our kids. Cabin fever is driving me to the brink of insanity.

Did you know?

Happy Valentines Day Matt! Love you. Just like the cookie says. For your Valentines gift I shaved my legs for the first time in, well, I won't say how long. Now THAT'S love.
(In case you were wondering about this DELICIOUS cookie, I got the recepie here. Best sugar cookies I've ever had.)

A letter to a good friend.

Dear Diet Coke,
You have always been good to me, and I crave your burning goodness all the time. For this reason, I have to end things between us. Our relationship has moved from a healthy friendship to a sick addiction. I think you may even be holding me back from my weight loss goals. How could you do that to me? I thought you cared about me! I'm tired of being so dependent on you, and ready to be a strong, sober woman. Since I quit you (two days ago) I have been plagued with terrible headaches and cravings, simply confirming to me how bad we are for eachother. It's been a good ride, diet coke, but the road ends here for me. I wish you all the best.
Love,
Sara

Someone at our house is getting OLD!

Photobucket
Yup, that's right. The big THREE-O. I was explaining to Matt yesterday that we have a little problem in our marriage...he keeps getting better looking the older he gets. I really mean that, not just flattery. I look back at pics from when we were dating or first married and he was smokin then...but WAAAAAY better now. So here's the problem: By the time we're 50 we're going to be one of those couples where people look at you and think to themselves, "wow, she scored." The whole age thing isn't complimenting me QUITE as nicely as it is my dear hubster. I'm already in search of the best anti-aging creams and am seriously considering botox in the near future. Gotta keep up with this guy, ya know? I got him this flannel shirt he's wearing for his birthday. When he opened it he said, "I'm going to look like the Jolly Green Lumber Jack." Then I spent the next 15 minutes explaining to him that flannel is way in style and looks super hot on guys, then told him how sexy he looked when he put it on, aaaand VIOLA! Matt wears flannel. If only he was so easy to persuade on everything I want. :) So, here he is...mr. thirty. Love you honey! You may LOOK younger than me, but I will always be 3 years younger than you, so chew on that. (this may sound mean, but he told me last night that I don't look a day under 27....which happens to be my actual age. Then followed up with telling me how EVERYONE tells him he looks WAY younger than 30. psht. I'm gonna go eat left over cake.)
