Yet another.....fun day at the beach. :)

Matt and Hallie and I decided to spend another beautiful Saturday at the beach. We loaded up our bikes and headed down to crystal cove in laguna beach. We actually ended up carrying the bikes more than riding them (the trails there went exactly bicycle friendly). But we found a perfect spot on the beach and set up camp for the rest of the day. Matt packed us a yummy lunch so we played in the water and ate penut butter and jelly sandwiches and fruit snacks and apples and cheese sticks. Hallie chased the seagulls all over the beach and was THRILLED when she realized how close they would get to you if you feed them cheese (I hope cheese doesn't make birds sick). She sat it her Daddy's lap while the waves washed up on them and even go a little brave and started walking towards them on her own. Matt would hold her like she was an airplane and run as fast as he could after the flocks of seagulls sitting on the beach and she would laugh and laugh as they all took flight to get away from them. What was I doing this whole time? Taking pictures of course. :) It was another great day at the beach.

Matt and I on my Birthday!

Happy birthday to us

She's showing you how old she is :)

Not a baby anymore :(

Just thought I'd put up a picture to show how much Hallie has changed in the last year. I'll put up the birthday pics tonight or tomorrow. If you could see the rest of me then you would know, I have changed quite a bit too (thank heavens!).

Long time no post....

So it's been a crazy past couple of weeks...therefore, no post lately. Life is good, in case anyone was wondering. Matt is finished applying for the airforce and things are looking very good. The selection board will meet in a few weeks, let him know if he's missing anything in the application, then tell him if he's in. (kind of). After that he still has to go through some really in depth physicals to make sure there is nothing wrong with him. We also got more good news about the airforce...because the job Matt has picked will require him going up in planes a lot on top of the REALLY good officer pay he will be getting, he will also be getting flight pay. We are both getting really excited to not have such tight finances. So that's the airforce news. As for Hallie and I, we both had our birthday's a week and a half ago, her's was on the 11th and mine was on the 12th. We both made out pretty good in the birthday loot category. She got all kinds of fun toys and a REALLY cute american girl doll. Rebecca and Mary got the doll a stroller and Hallie loves to push her dollie around in the stroller, until she runs into a corner and starts SCREAMING for mommie to come and turn the stroller around so she can keep going. As for me, I decided that I am REALLY good at tennis. I have never actually played before, but I was sure that it was my hidden talent that I have never discovered. So I told Matt that for my birthday I wanted to get decked out with tennis stuff. Rackets, balls, wrist bans, etc. And he did such a good job!! He got me a pink tennis racket with a pink cover for it. He also got himself a matching blue racket (so I would have someone to play with). We have played tennis almost everyday since my birthday. I was really dissappointed to discover that tennis is NOT my hidden talent, but I'm having a lot of fun making a fool out of myself and getting some good excercise (hopefully to loose those last few baby lbs). I'll post some birthday pictures in the next couple of days (as soon as I get around to getting them on the computer). But that should pretty well catch me up for the past couple of weeks. As for my hidden talent.....I'm still looking for it. :)

Just say No...

Had I known that if I took one excedrine migraine for my really bad headache a few hours ago I would be sitting up at my computer WIDE awake at one in the morning, I would never have done it. Did you know those things are loaded with caffeine? Now you do. It's times like this when I really wish that I had a hobby so I would be doing something productive instead of looking at people's myspace's and blogging at one a.m. :) Even though I know I'm going to be SOOO tired tomorrow when Hallie wakes up at 5:30 in the morning, I still am sitting here smiling like and idiot because I'm thinking about how much I love my life. I love Matt so much, I don't know why the Lord blessed me with such a perfect husband for me. I haven't done nearly enough things right to deserve him. Sure, he irritates me sometimes....but at the end of the day I have to thank the Lord for convincing him to marry me, because I'm sure that I irritate him ALOT more than he irritates me. :) Then along came Hallie. Even though she wakes up so stinkin early, I'm always so excited to get her out of bed in the morning and play with her. I love my family. I know I'm rambling, just remember these are the rantings of a highly caffinated woman. Good night (hopefully).

A new phase in our lives!

Hallie started walking this week!! I was sad that Matt missed her first steps on Monday, but I was even more sad that I missed them too! She started walking from Elizabeth's arms towards David who was dangling a passifier over her head. Of course. I'm with the kid 24/7 and she decides to start walking when I'm at the DMV getting our car registered. :) I was still really excited to see her do it when I got home. It doesn't look real seeing her little body stumble across the floor, she's so cute. So now it's official, Hallie is a toddler. FUN!

Because she has been given much....

So I know all I talk about is Hallie, but there is a good reason for that...that is all I do all day every day is hang out with her. She is my life, so I really don't have anything else to talk about. The Picture People are having a contest right now for "The new face" of the picture people. And because Hallie is an exceptionally good looking child :), I decided that she could definently win that contest. The problem: This dumb contest has taken over my life!! Due to my slightly competitive nature and my habit of getting kind of obsessed with things, I can't get this stupid contest out of my head!!! I've already been to Picture People two days in a row to have her pictures taken and they are never good enough. So now I've been there two days and I can't go back without making a fool out of myself. So I picked a picture for them to send in, then promptly came home and started looking online for another picture people store where they don't already know me and I can go and give it another whirl to have the PERFECT picture taken. Am I crazy? I feel like I'm getting closer to it everyday. :) I'll let you know if she wins. haha.

The beauty of an air matress!

Why didn't we do this sooner!!! I can't believe we've been sleeping on our couches for all this time, we just started sleeping on an airmatress two night ago (because Hallie won't let us sleep in our room with her) and we sleep GREAT! It's amazing the funny little blessings that make life so much better.
