We are home (insert huge sigh of relief).
Our Christmas vacation was amazing and crazy.
We were so SO busy...so if I never got a chance to see you, SORRY!
We just couldn't fit it all in.
First things first:
The few days before we left for the good old US of A we hit up a couple of Christmas markets (since this was our last Christmas here). I wish I could explain Christmas markets to those of you who have never been to one. It's like going to the county fair for the yummy food that you can only get at fairs. Only with Christmas lights, and people selling Christmas goodies, and lots of hot chocolate, and deep fried everything. We pretty much go just to eat. And it's WORTH it.
Plus the Christmas markets are always set up in the center of cool old cities and towns. Makes for some seriously picturesque shopping.
You get bundled up and go explore. Find a bench to sit down and drink your hot chocolate. Let your kids eat all the cotton candy they want. Eat weinerschintzel and crepes at the same time. It's amazing.
Did I mention the food?
And the hot chocolate?
And the food?
And how beautiful it is?
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention St. Nicholas. He may just wander by with a ginger bread man for your kids. (A ginger bread man that's as hard as a rock I might add).
And of course, the little old man with his musical box adding lovely music to the beautiful setting.
We will miss the Christmas markets very very much. So many "lasts" this year as we get ready to make our move back to America. It's so bitter sweet.
