This big girl had a BIG month! She turned 5 on August 11, and it was a day she had waited for since she turned 4. I decided that I'm not down with the whole celebrating a birthday over and over again, so I threw her birthday party ON her birthday. Let me tell you, GENIUS! I didn't have to make a cake for her twice, I didn't have to deal with the self centered birthday girl attitude twice, I knocked it all out in one day. One very good day.
Hallie opening her birthday presents from Mom and Dad when she woke up. She got her lunch box and backpack and water bottle for school as birthday presents (another genius idea).
And the American Girl Doll twins made her day. Matt felt very strongly that because of the price of the dolls Hallie should receive one twin for her birthday and one for Christmas. Luckily he just didn't have the heart to seperate them.
Hallie has loved being the Mommy to her twins.
The birthday party was great (except for a few showers) and we had a great turn out.
Chase REALLY liked the cupcakes.
Then yesterday Hallie had her first day of school. She was so excited that she didn't sleep the night before and fell asleep in the car on the way there.
It didn't hit me until after we got the backpack that maybe having her name printed on it is not the safest bet when it comes to stranger danger. Luckily, she goes to school on a well gaurded military base at an even better gaurded school. Lesson learned though. It's still really cute.
We had a first day success! She loved the kids, loves her teacher, loves being a big girl. I can't believe I have a kindergartener. Things are moving way too fast.

Oh I still remember getting my American Girl Doll. Happiness to that. It looks like it was a good birthday.
The backpack and water bottle are SO cute! And she looks so big with her hair down all ready for school. Wow, time is going by fast. She used to hide her binkis in my house just a bit ago. =)
woah! kindergarten!! crazy! i can't believe it either. she looks so pretty in all those pictures! navy will start preschool next week!! i love you and can't wait to see you!
I LOVED my American Girl dolls, but yes they are quite the investment. I used to get up at like 4 on the first day of school to get dressed, she looked super cute!

My mom is obsessed with American Doll stuff. The past 2 Christmases have been gift cards to that place. I think the dolls are cute, but REALLY hope Hayden is as passionate about dolls as she is computers... I can dream right?
