We went shopping today for our trip to Paris early Thursday morning. I stocked up on all the unhealthy, individually packaged, processed, crap I could get my hands on. That's the fun part of going on vacation, right? I also bought some grapes...so we're covered for the healthy part of our Paris trip. I have been writing down all the suggestions everyone gave from the last post, making plans accordingly, but I'm anxiously waiting to see what Sarah G Papworth thinks I should do in Paris for three days. So I'm WAITING SARAH! Also, should I take my kids to the Lourve? Or do that a different time sans kiddos? Besides Sarah suggestions, I'm also still up for more suggestions (kid friendly?). We are really excited and I can't wait to get an awesome family pic in front of the Eiffel Tower. Those will be up soon enough.
On a funny note...here's a convo with my sweet husband:
I walk into the bathroom before I go to bed the other night to wash my face and can't because Matt is brushing his teeth in my sink.
Me: Why are you using MY sink to brush your teeth?
Matt: Because I like to keep my sink clean.
THAT'S why he always has the kids brush their teeth in MY sink. Well jokes on him...I've started using his sink and my old sink now belongs to him. He just doesn't know it. hehe.

P.S.-Reading Assignment: Go and get The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Couldn't put it down. Super amazing book.

I say hit the Louvre without the kids... from what I remember it wouldn't be that fun for little kids. Lots of walking, crowds blocking the view to the stuff hanging on the walls that might (MIGHT!) otherwise hold their attention... seems like the best case scenario with them along is if they're sleeping in a stroller or something. That's my two cents.

PS... ya, I guess I'm reading your blog now. Becca tells me its awesome.

Those natural fit Huggies must be for Matt so he can just keep driving... Did he ever tell you the story of the time he had to pee but didn't want to stop on the way to Florida? Good times.

HA! I totally missed the P.S. part in your last post. I am oozing with jealousy that you will be in Paris. Here are my suggestions:

-Do the Louvre without the kiddos because it is gigantic and is hard enough to navigate alone. The Louvre is INCREDIBLE, but you could spend an entire year exploring it, so I say find the pieces of art that you want to see most and just hit them up. I also suggest seeing the Napoleon III apartments while you're there and my favorite piece of art is the "Winged Victory". -Besides the Louvre, my FAVORITE museum is the Rodin Museum. Very small and manageable and amazing. (This one, the kids might enjoy)
-Go to the Jardin du Luxembourg with the kids and let them run around.
-Also, go to Sacre Coeur with the kids. There is a Carousel at the bottom and the church is really cool.
-Notre Dame
-Eat macaroons from Laduree (there's one on the Champs Elysees)
-For your pictures of the Eiffel Tower, a really good spot is to get off on the Metro stop called Ecole Militaire.

Ah, so many things to see and do... these are the ones that come to mind first. Ask me again when you take another trip there, I'll have more ideas.

Jess: I'm not going to tell you what it's about. Just that you HAVE to read it. I was up until 4 am finishing it because I couldn't put it down.

"The Hunger Games" was pretty good. You might like some of these:
The Shack by William P. Young
Souvenir by Therese Fowler
Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand (if you like it read "The Fountainhead" by Rand).
The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewski
Authors you will probably love:
Kathy Reichs; Devil Bones, Cross Bones, Break No Bones, Bones to Ahes, etc.
Patricia Cornwell; anything she writes.
Nevada Barr; again, all of them.

A buddy of mine says to go to Chibby S Diner for the best cheeseburger in Paris. No milkshakes though.
