This happened like a week and a half ago, but I needed to wait to get the pictures from my friend Kelsey before I wrote about it. So.....last Saturday we went down to the shooting range on the base to shoot shot guns. As we were unloading the car Hallie was playing around inside of the car. Matt had turned off the car, but left the keys in the ignition so I could turn the car back on and nurse Chase in there. So the drivers side door was still open and we were all standing outside of the car and Hallie pulled the door shut.....then locked it. Luckily I had already gotten Chase out of the car so the only small child trapped in there was her. Was she scared you may be asking yourself? Of course not. She took the opportunity to do everything in the car she has always known she is not allowed to do. Put pennies in the AC vents, put CDs in the CD player, completely empty my purse, play with the shot gun shells in the back seat, drink the drinks in the cup holders. She seemed to be capable of turning on and doing ABSOLUTELY everything in that car EXCEPT unlock the doors. Sooooo, we had to call the police. It took them about 10 minutes, but they finally got the door unlocked with a slim jim. So I (being the good, concerned parent that I am) documented the experience by taking pictures the whole time. :)

Oh no! That is too funny (looking back)! That happened to a cousin and her daughter colored everything with a black sharpie! Everything was ruined and they had to buy a new car! (like the windows and everything were covered!) I'm glad it all worked out for you!
Oh. My. Gosh. Patrick locked himself in our bedroom about three months ago while Sean was out of town and I about died freaking out about what could happen to him and/or our stuff in there without supervision.
As a side note, when Sean was three he locked himself in his mom's police cruiser and spent the whole time calling out to dispatch and turning on all the cop lights and stuffn while refusing to unlock the doors. It's one of those family stories that gets told again and again!
Matt did the same to me I had taken Jess into the babysitters and went back to get him and he locked me out of the truck. He was sitting in the center with his little arms folded with such an attitude. He finally did unlock it by himself though. Funny paybacks. love mom
It's good you have the pictures - they'll be fun to tease her about later!
that is pretty funny. is that snow on the ground? in florida?
She is only two! Wait till she gets older, she's going to give you a run for your money. I just love that little girl. I'll bet she laughed the entire time.
hahah, this is seriously the best story i've heard in a long time!
That is killer!! She's a cute little devil though :)
Okay, that is beyond comical!! I just laughed out loud. I love that she is just content and happy that she gets to now have full run of the car and do whatever she wants. What a funny little girl that one is!! I think my favorite picture is the last where you and Matt are just laughing. What else can you do right? I am very glad that Chase did get out, because if not, who knows what she would have done to him!! So funny.
those are seriously some good pictures!! i think my favorite is the most accidental of them--the one with hallie and the headphones. glad you finally got to post about it!
That is the best story I have heard in a long time. I love that Hallie made the best of the situation!!!
Haha! I think if we told strangers of all the crazy things that go wrong in life they call child services.
One time I forgot to buckle in the car seat and when i took my first turn the car seat fell over. Luckily Garren was strapped in so he didn't roll around too much. He said, "Oh no Dad, oh no. I fell down."
That is just hilarious. I don't think I heard that story!
