No girl can make a trip to Salzburg without stopping to see The Sound of Music gazebo. It makes a girls heart sing.
After getting our gazebo giddies out, we headed over to the city. As you can see, Nicole is READY for the day with a pastry and redbull in hand.
All things considered, my kids once again impressed me with their overall behavior for our road trip. It was a lot of driving and walking and there was pretty minimal complaining.
What a surprise to find that there was a place in Salzburg for people just like Nicole, suffering from Redbull Addiction Disorder.
This picture makes me so happy because it was just so Nicole for this whole trip. iphone in one hand, Rebull and pastry in the other, smile plastered on her face.
And this was so Kirsti. Happy, beautiful, and jumping in to grab a kids hand when I needed help.
I miss them. *tear*
Now THIS picture had to be edited due to graphic content not appropriate for young viewers.
Nicole and Kirsti bought dirndls to take home....then decided WHEN IN AUSTRIA, DO AS THE AUSTIRANS DO! So they headed out of the store, shopping bags in hand with their original clothes inside, and became the most exciting tourist attractions of the day!
At one point in the day they put out their empty hot chocolate cup and took donations to have a picture taken with them. It was hilarious. Everywhere we walked, people stopped, staired, pointed, and took pictures. The brave ones asked Nicole and Kirsti to pose in a picture with them. (pictured above.)
Nicole sings the praises of the "hair over one eye pose".
So Kirist and I tested it out.
And that pretty much finishes off our day in Salzburg. We mostly just walked around enjoying the beautiful city.
No wait...THIS finishes off our day Salzburg.
The next morning we got up somewhat early and headed to Munich. This was fun for Matt and I because we had not yet been to Munich. It was a neat city to see, full of street music and young men searching out ginormous beers. Seriously though, it was a pretty city.
The picture above is from inside the church.
We may have spent an hour standing here listening to this street band. They were amazing. The best I've ever seen on the streets of Europe.
This is pretty much the looks on the faces of every woman in the crowd. These boys made us swoon.
But not as much as this boy makes me swoon.
Just being beautiful.
Bratwurst anyone? Anyone?
Moving on.....the next day we packed up our cute little cabin and started our drive to Switzerland. We stopped on the way at Neuschwanstein Castle to take a little tour. It is QUITE a little hike up to the castle, we decided horse drawn carriage was a much better mode of transportation.

Hallie enjoying a little bit of deep friend, powder sugar coated deliciousness.
Coming up next.......
Switzerland.
