Let the Road Trippin begin!!

Matt planned out a really great road trip for while Nicole and Kirsti were here....and that road trip started with driving to Garmisch, Germany (in the bavarian Alps) to stay for 3 nights at the military resort there.  We stayed in this really cute little cabin that we all loved and saw a few cities near Garmisch.  We started with Salzburg.  Matt and I really love Salzburg and I loved seeing through Nicole and Kirsti's eyes for the first time.  Lets get to some pictures, shall we?

No girl can make a trip to Salzburg without stopping to see The Sound of Music gazebo.  It makes a girls heart sing.
After getting our gazebo giddies out, we headed over to the city.  As you can see, Nicole is READY for the day with a pastry and redbull in hand.
All things considered, my kids once again impressed me with their overall behavior for our road trip.  It was a lot of driving and walking and there was pretty minimal complaining.
What a surprise to find that there was a place in Salzburg for people just like Nicole, suffering from Redbull Addiction Disorder.
This picture makes me so happy because it was just so Nicole for this whole trip.  iphone in one hand, Rebull and pastry in the other, smile plastered on her face.
And this was so Kirsti. Happy, beautiful, and jumping in to grab a kids hand when I needed help.
I miss them. *tear*
Now THIS picture had to be edited due to graphic content not appropriate for young viewers.
Nicole and Kirsti bought dirndls to take home....then decided WHEN IN AUSTRIA, DO AS THE AUSTIRANS DO!  So they headed out of the store, shopping bags in hand with their original clothes inside, and became the most exciting tourist attractions of the day!
At one point in the day they put out their empty hot chocolate cup and took donations to have a picture taken with them.  It was hilarious.  Everywhere we walked, people stopped, staired, pointed, and took pictures.  The brave ones asked Nicole and Kirsti to pose in a picture with them.  (pictured above.)

Nicole sings the praises of the "hair over one eye pose".
So Kirist and I tested it out.
And that pretty much finishes off our day in Salzburg.  We mostly just walked around enjoying the beautiful city.
No wait...THIS finishes off our day Salzburg.
The next morning we got up somewhat early and headed to Munich.  This was fun for Matt and I because we had not yet been to Munich.  It was a neat city to see, full of street music and young men searching out ginormous beers. Seriously though, it was a pretty city.
The picture above is from inside the church.
We may have spent an hour standing here listening to this street band.  They were amazing.  The best I've ever seen on the streets of Europe.

This is pretty much the looks on the faces of every woman in the crowd.  These boys made us swoon.

But not as much as this boy makes me swoon.
Just being beautiful.

Bratwurst anyone?  Anyone?

Moving on.....the next day we packed up our cute little cabin and started our drive to Switzerland.  We stopped on the way at Neuschwanstein Castle to take a little tour.  It is QUITE a little hike up to the castle, we decided horse drawn carriage was a much better mode of transportation.

Best friends......in Paris. Except for Julie. :(

How many girls can say that they got to travel through Europe with their best friends?  I CAN!!  Except Julie couldn't come....so there was a little Julie sized gap in our whole vacation.  We love you Jules.  To kick off our kick A trip, I picked Nicole and Kirsti up from the airport and we headed straight to Paris.  We were completely "kid free" for 2 days.  It was amazing.  We ate, and walked, and decided walking sucked and took taxis, and ate some more, and saw some stuff, and ate some more, and took some more taxis.  It was a dream.  And what 3 girls in Paris WOULDN'T take every opportunity available for a fabulous photo shoot?  It was most definently supermodel documentary hour.  (name that movie).  Aaaaand, here we go:
Beautiful best friends in front  of the Louvre.

I wish you could hear our dialogue during our random photo shoots.  "Look away!"  "Look past me." "Chin down." "Turn more to the side." "Super hot."  "Oh man, you're going to love this one."
"And the next day I'm in New York on the cover of Vogue".  (name that movie.  hint: these quotes are all from the same movie).
Yes Nicole....I did crop this picture.  If you want to know why, you'll have to ask her.
Nicoles good side.  My cry-laughing side.
Oh I love them.
Desperately searching for food around the Louvre.  And a toilet.  Nicole is getting REALLY desperate.
Kirsti hit a jet-lag high and started leaping down the streets of Paris.   With excellent form I might add.
Ahhh, we found food.  And it was delish.  As always.
Then we were off for another photo shoot.  We got some good ones.

Pretty sure these are going to be our favorite memories of Paris.  Sitting on a city bench, laps full of deliciousness from the local bakery, laughing and talking and people watching.  Did I mention the delicious food?

It was really delicous.
I got to check out the Orsay for the first time and loved it.  But even more than loving the museum I loved sitting on the stairs in front of it listening to live music and eating more yummy food.

And taking pictures with best friends.

And looking pretty for the local tourists.  Nicole had an excited fan come up to her wanting to know if she was Blake Lively.

Inside of the Orsay.  Just an amazing picture.  Should be framed.  Just saying.

In front of Notre Dame
Nicole has a hard time passing up local play ground equipment.  Kirsti has a hard time saying "No".  haha.
Just a little old Arch.
Sometimes when you feel like your photo shoots aren't going well, you have to take matters into your own hands and Kirsti did here.  Luckily Nicole didn't pass up the opportunity to add to the picture.
Kirsti couldnt' believe that she found this statue of herself.
A little more dialogue for you:
Me: Grab the bars and lean backwards and look at the camera and I'll get the eiffel tower in the background.
Kirsti: Like THIS?"
Nicole: (just looks confused and happy....pictured above)

Me: Nicole, look at Kirsti, do it like Kirsti
Nicole: Like this?
Me: No....look at the camera! Your eyes are closed.  You're looking up, not at me.
Nicole: (insert some form of profanity)
Me: Do it like KIRSTI!

See! Now wasn't that worth it??
Then Nicole gives up.  Kirsti wins.
Nicole and Kirsti take Instagram VERY seriously.
Supermodel Kirsti.
Supermodel Nicole.

Aaaand an action shot of Kirsti walking through Paris to finish things off.

Just wait....next photo shoot, SALZBURG!
