A bit more of London.
Okay, a few more pictures for you. Our main purpose in taking this little excursion into London was to go and see Wicked. Neither of us had ever seen it, and it was SO good. Such a fun show, and so funny listening to the actors with their english accents. Loved it. Getting to see everything else was just a MAJOR perk. I've been doing a little reading and movie watching to prepare myself historically for this London trip, so it made seeing Queen Elizabeth's grave in Westminster Abbey, where Anne Boleyn lost her head at the Tower of London, and Henry VIII's famous castle of Hampton Court all the more exciting for me. ANYWAYS, here's some more pictures.

Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace.

Hampton Court. I really liked this castle, the red brick made it so different looking and unique compared to all the other castles we've seen.

Here's good old Henry VIII. I have mixed feelings about this guy. He's obviously a jerk who has no problem chopping off people's heads, and yet I can't get enough of him. He intrigues me. He's like the jerk boy in high school who is really really full of himself and rich and drives a nice car and thinks he's the coolest and you hate him...but you still can't help but have a crush on him. Does that make sense? I hate the guy, but I'm still drawn to everything I can learn about him.

Matt and I having a jumping competition in the gardens at Hampton Court. He can jump higher.

Taking in the views.

I took this picture from the top of the London Eye. The largest Ferris Wheel in the world.

Here is the inside of Saint Paul's Cathedral. We weren't supposed to take pictures inside, so we took this one on the down low. Hence the random people in the way. This is where Charles and Diana got married, and let me tell you something...GOOD CHOICE. This place is freakin awesome. The prettiest Cathedral we've seen yet. The entire ceiling is done in mosiac and sparkles like it's no body's business. Loved this place.

I'm in this picture somewhere. The minute I saw the front of Saint Pauls I got so excited and said, "Feed the birds! Tuppence a bag!" You know, from Mary Poppins. I immediately recognized those stairs and those pillars. I wish I had bird feed and could sing the song while I sat there. Instead Matt just took my picture on the stairs. That'll have to do.

Tower of London. This place was really cool slash really gruesome. We got to see the Crown Jewels of England while we were here (AMAZING) and also got to see where Anne Boleyn, and quite a few others were beheaded. This is also the place where the two princeses were believed to be murdered. Lots of nasty stuff happened here.

This is a monument to the people that were beheaded within the walls of the Tower. It was considered to be an honor to lose your head inside the Tower of London, instead of outside the walls on the hill where most people were beheaded. Only important people died inside. The chapel behind Matt is where Anne was buried in an unmarked grave.

Here is the London Tower Bridge behind us. Really pretty.

This pretty much closed out our four days in London. It was a really fun, busy trip and my feet have NEVER hurt as bad as they did by the end of these four days.

Welcome to London.
We loved London. So much history, so much food, so much shopping. Everything a girl could want. Some of our good friends kept our kids while we enjoyed a 4 day romantic weekend sightseeing, taking in a good show, and over indulging our bellies. Mmmm. Just to clear up any confusion as to why I seem to be wearing the same clothes EVERY day...it's because I am. We could only bring one carry-on bag each onto the plane. My backpack only had the bare necessities. Don't judge. Here's the first two days worth of pictures:

Matt and I in front of Parliment and Big Ben. Seeing Big Ben for me was kind of like seeing the Eiffel Tower. It's been in so many movies that you could see a picture of this clock anywhere and immediately name it. So cool to get to see it with my own eyes.

We got kinda bored smiling for the camera and starting playing with the sports mode in front of important buildings. We have some REALLY funny pictures. This is Buckingham Palace behind me.

Loved this phone booth.

Artsy.

Parliment again. Super cool building.

This is a picture from the upper level of a city bus of london at sundown. I just loved all the hustle and bustle it captured.

Hmmm, parliment and big ben again. Kinda feels like Chevy Chase's European Vacation.

WOW! Parliment!

Matt's hero shot in front of the statue at Buckingham Palace. The Queen saw him standing there through one of her windows and sent a guard out to see if Matt would be her date to a ball that night because he is SOOOO handsome. He respectfully declined telling the gaurd he was married, but flattered. jk.

Matt jumping in front of Parliment.

Hanging out at St. James park near Buckingham palace.

The tube (metro) in London is super handy. All kinds of characters down there. We saw a 60 year old-ish white dude walking around in a leather halter top, pink bra, leather pants, and spiked high heels. Awesome.

Anyone who grew up with me should appreciate this picture. The Lebaron family just so happened to be in London the same time we were and it was so so so fun to get to meet up with them. What a small world! More pictures to come!

Room for Improvement.

He bites people. And by "people" I mean his sister.
He told me I'm ugly the other day. Not in the mean, yelling, angry way. In a nice, calm, matter of fact way. Kinda like he was breaking it to me gently.
He tells people he's gonna "Shoot them in face." It's sorta embarrassing.
He thinks it's funny to get a spoonful of sour cream, yogurt, or any other food of a creamy consistency on his spoon....and fling it at the wall. Or his sister.
He thinks it's a good idea to draw on our TV with a crayon.
He doesn't mind time-out. Actually seems to kind of enjoy it.
He is the king of opposites. If I say it's black, he says it's white. If I give him cereal for breakfast, he wants waffles. And so on and so forth.
He doesn't listen to anything I say.
He thinks it's funny to go up to strangers and smack them on the bottom. Also embarrassing.
If allowed to roam freely at the grocery store, he uses the apples like base balls and throws them as far as he can.
He thinks he should be in charge of the volume of any music playing in the car. Makes my life MISERABLE when it's too loud, or too quiet.
He calls Hallie "Babe." It's actually really funny.

But I still just can't get enough of his cute face, bad attitude, and yummy chocolate brown eyes.
