Misc. pictures from France

Here is the end of our ridiculous amount of Paris Pictures. They are just the random from the whole weekend....

Here is me taking a picture of me
Matt taking a picture of me video recording Paris

Just standing there.

Arc de Triumph

aaaaand again.

again.

Hallie and Chase breaking free from the stroller for a little while to play in the fountain. It was a famous fountain for some reason...don't remember why.

we will NEVER take the Metro with two kids and a double stroller again. NEVER.

Cool graveyard shot.

Hallie running like a mad woman through Paris.

Thank you Sarah for sending us to Laduree's to eat the most delicious things I have ever put in my mouth. This is a Macaroon. If I told you how much money I spent on Macaroons while we were in Paris....you would die. I know Matt did.

When Matt took a bite of his Macaroon he said, "This is the best thing I have ever eaten".

Some of the delicious-ness of Laduree's.

The arc again....:)

The kids at Jardin du Luxembourg.
So that's that. End of the Paris pics. We had a really good time there and look forward to taking friends and family that come out to visit us back.

Versailles

On Saturday evening before we drove back home, we made the trip out to Versailles. Unfortunately we made it there just as they were kicking everyone out of the (palace?) I don't really know what you'd call it. It's used for congress type stuff now, but has been lots of different things at different times. Anyways, we could still walk around the grounds and see the AMAZING gardens. They were HUGE. Like unbelievable.

Standing in the courtyard in the back.

This, I'm pretty sure, is my very favorite picture ever.

Hallie taking her turn to hang out with a statue.

And out in front of the gardens.

Notre Dame

Here's the next wave of Paris pics....from at and around Notre Dame.
This is me wishing I had paid a little more attention in history classes all my life....trying to soak in as much French history as I can.
Hallie in the Gardens behind Notre Dame

Chase being so stinkin handsome. His lips just look so kissable.

Me and the kids standing next to Notre Dame. Crazy how big it is huh?

Just a cool picture.

Me and my girl....we love chillin in Paris.

More pictures than I know what to do with.

Seriously. I'm sitting here going through our Paris pictures, and I'm totally overwhelmed. There are HUNDREDS!! So I'm going to post pictures according to theme. :) The theme today is the Eiffel Tower. If the picture has the Eiffel Tower in it, and I like the picture, then it's in this post. So here we go....

Yes, I think I'm REALLY funny when I do things like hold hands with the statues and act like we're seeing Paris together. hee hee.

Matt likes to look like he's being overpowered by the statues.

Hallie LOVED the Eiffel Tower. For her souvenir this was all she wanted. She's been carrying it around with her, sleeping with it, playing with it. The climax of our weekend was when Chase threw it out our three story hotel room window to the street below. Luckily no one below was harmed.

This will definitely be framed and put in her room next to her Eiffel Tower. I love love love this picture.

All lit up at night. Seeing the Eiffel Tower is one of the craziest experiences of my life. I don't know why. I guess just seeing it in movies all my life and all that it represents. It was amazing.

Just us.

So here are our artsy shots of the Eiffel tower....

I don't know what it is about this picture of Chase that I love so much. I guess just the way he is. He has NO IDEA that he is standing in front of something that most people will never get to see in their lives. When I woke Hallie up Thursday morning to leave and I told her "wake up sweetie, we're going to Paris!" and she's all, "Oh! I've never even BEEN to Paris". Yeah Hallie, most people have never even BEEN to Paris. They just have no idea.

Laying on the lawn in from of the E.T.

Love this little boy. I just want to kiss his little face all the time.

The whole Familia.

More Paris to come......

Busy loving Paris...

be back in a few days.

Tuesday, May 19, 2009

We went shopping today for our trip to Paris early Thursday morning. I stocked up on all the unhealthy, individually packaged, processed, crap I could get my hands on. That's the fun part of going on vacation, right? I also bought some grapes...so we're covered for the healthy part of our Paris trip. I have been writing down all the suggestions everyone gave from the last post, making plans accordingly, but I'm anxiously waiting to see what Sarah G Papworth thinks I should do in Paris for three days. So I'm WAITING SARAH! Also, should I take my kids to the Lourve? Or do that a different time sans kiddos? Besides Sarah suggestions, I'm also still up for more suggestions (kid friendly?). We are really excited and I can't wait to get an awesome family pic in front of the Eiffel Tower. Those will be up soon enough.
On a funny note...here's a convo with my sweet husband:
I walk into the bathroom before I go to bed the other night to wash my face and can't because Matt is brushing his teeth in my sink.
Me: Why are you using MY sink to brush your teeth?
Matt: Because I like to keep my sink clean.
THAT'S why he always has the kids brush their teeth in MY sink. Well jokes on him...I've started using his sink and my old sink now belongs to him. He just doesn't know it. hehe.

P.S.-Reading Assignment: Go and get The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Couldn't put it down. Super amazing book.

The North Sea....Den Haag

Matt and I had some friends offer to watch the kids yesterday so we could go to the LDS Temple in Den Haag. It was WONDERFUL to have the day to ourselves. After we went to the temple in Holland, we went to the beach in Den Haag. OOOOOOH how we've missed the ocean. We ate lunch on the beach, got italian ice cream, watched crazy people bungee jumping off the pier, had a romantic stroll along the coast, it was a perfect day (minus the crazy wind). So here is our photo documentation of our day.
Well...we've been to so many beaches, I figure if we're going to remember which beach we're at in which picture I had better start writing it down.

Went crazy with photoshop. Love the way it turned out.

Handsome hubby. He gets more handsome the older he gets...so I count myself lucky.
P.S. We're going to Paris on Thursday for a few days. If you've been there, please tell me what we MUST see!

My delicious little addiction...

So I discovered the most delicious little German treat, and I'm kind of addicted. You go and buy some yummy bread from the bakery (I get the sweet bread), spread it with butter, then sprinkle the bread with these chocolate sprinkles. They aren't just any sprinkles, they are milk chocolate goodness and this is my new FAVORITE treaty. I also like to throw in a diet coke for good measure. Let me know if you want some and I'll send you a little sampler. Ok, I'm not going to send EVERYONE a sampler. Tomorrow night I'll pick at random from the people who leave comments and the winner will get a package with some of my favorite German treats. Good luck!
****And the Winner is: SHAUNA!! Email me your adress and I'll get your yummy package out to you this week! sarapowell21@hotmail.com ******
