My Husband. AKA- Mr. Cool Guy
Matt had a really cool opportunity on Tuesday to get to go up on an F-15 fighter jet. Of course, he loved it. They got to do some basic fighter manuevers in the sky against an F-22. They pulled 8.7 g's (whatever that means) and the pilot even let Matt fly the Jet. So here are his cool guy pics. :)

Top 10
Top 10 Reasons I'm excited to move to Germany (in no particular order):
1. We won't be homeless anymore
2. We won't be car-less anymore
3. Never been there...I'm always up for a new adventure
4. The anticipation of having to fly 12 hours with 2 kids will be over
5. I get to blog with some new, amazing pictures
6. We get to be one, whole family again
7. ummm, hello! Travel Europe...for 4 years!
8. Get Hallie into Preschool and have 2 whole hours 3 days a week with only one child
9. Maybe buy some really cute European car
10. Eat some really good food (I've heard it's pretty amazing over there)
Top 10 Reason I'm TERRIFIED to move to Germany (in no particular order):
1. The German language sounds like they are trying to get something really nasty out of their throat. I don't want to have to talk like that.
2. The plane trip. My airways start closing off every time I think about it.
3. House hunting for the first month or so. I hate house hunting, especially when I have to count on Matt and his German to voice my questions and concerns to the landlord.
4. The time change. They are 9 hours ahead of us here, I can't even imagine what that's going to do to my kids for the first few days.
5. It's really far from my family. Flying alone with two kids from Florida was hard enough, I don't think I can do it from Germany.
6. Moving day is 10 days away, we are not ready and have WAY too much stuff. Some of it has to be shipped, but I'm really bad at picking what stays and what goes.
7. My kids LOVE being near their grandparents. Both mine and Matt's parents love our kids to pieces and the feelings are definitely mutual. I hate the thought of my kids growing up nowhere near family.
8. Whenever Matt is at work, I'm left to do my own communicating with the German people. That means I have to learn a new language. I am really bad at committing myself to doing something (like learning a whole new language) and following through with it. Guess I don't really have a choice.
9. Matt might get sent back to Alabama shortly after we get there for 6 more weeks of training. That leaves me in a new country, alone. For SIX weeks. (luckily that one is a maybe)
10. The unknown. I love it and hate it at the same time.

The Duchess
I don't know if I spelled that right, but DO NOT go and see it. It was the most depressing, boring, downer I have ever seen. Plus an added scene that was very "hollywood" and GROSS. So trust me on this one, don't waste your money. On a lighter note, Matt gets here tomorrow and will be here for one day. Then, he leaves to go back to florida for 3 days and THEN we get to have our husband/daddy back for good (until the next time). I miss having him around so much, I'm giddy just thinking about having him back.

We made it back from Utah.
And the flights were honestly not too horrible. I'm becoming a pro at this whole "flying alone with two kids" thing. I've learned to play on the pity of people around me in the airport and on the plane to get help lifting things, getting all of our crap through the security, getting on the plane itself, and having flight attendants watch the kids so I can go the bathroom. Anyways, we had a lot of fun in Utah and especially had a good time getting to see Matt's parents. They spoiled us rotten and Hallie especially loved every minute of it. Here are my two favorite Hallie quotes from while we were in Utah:
Me: I need to go take a shower
Hallie: WHy?
Me: Because I stink.
Hallie: (looking VERY confused) Did YOU poop?
While we were driving around Hallie was being mean to Chase and I yelled at her from the front seat to knock it off. She's been watching a lot of Mulan lately, so she dropped her head and said, "I will NEVER bring my family honor!"
She's pretty much crazy. I love her.
Hallie on temple square
Hallie and Chase with their Grandma Jan
Hallie and Chase with their great-grandma Pat.
Hallie got to go with Matt's sister Katie to ride her horse. She was in horsey HEAVEN.

Hallie and an opossum at Hoggle Zoo.
Enjoying her cotton candy
Hallie and her second cousin Olivia riding the trike
Chase being a Man.

Vote YES on Prop 8
Just wanted to get the word out on the importance for everyone in California and Florida to get out and vote for prop 8 on the November ballot. Here are a few important facts in regards to this proposition that is so vital to the survival of the family unit.
-
Having tolerance without condoning.
We can love someone while still maintaining and advocating our standards and beliefs. -
Unless Proposition 8 passes, California society will soon undergo a profound change in its basic understanding of marriage and family life.
That will affect everyone in numerous ways. Over time, greater acceptance of nontraditional marriage will be demanded of all people. This could impact the ability of any religion to teach and practice its beliefs. -
Proposition 8 will not hurt gays.
In California, the law provides for marriage-related benefits to be given to civil unions and domestic partnerships. Proposition 8 does not diminish these benefits. -
Failure to pass Proposition 8 will hurt children.
If gay marriage remains legal, public schools will put it on equal footing with traditional marriage. Children will likely receive “age appropriate” information about sexual relations within heterosexual and homosexual marriages. -
Failure to pass Proposition 8 will hurt churches.
The court’s decision will inevitably lead to conflicts with religious liberty and free speech rights. Society will become more and more hostile to traditional beliefs about marriage and family.

I love Matt.
Dear Matt,
I think you're really really good looking. :) I miss you so much and so do the kids. We are going crazy without you. You are SERIOUSLY going to have your share of diaper duty to catch up on when you get back. Chase agrees. Thank you for being such a good Dad and husband. You take such good care of us and are so good to me. Marrying you was the best decision I have ever made. We can't wait to get to Germany and start back up on normal lives again! We love love love you.
Love, Sara
ps- I think you look really hot in a uniform.
